Trifle Tradition

Happy 4th of July! As far as celebration activities go, this holiday is actually my least favorite. The fireworks upset the local wildlife, as well as the domestic pets in the area (to include one of my own who becomes despondent at the first hint of noise).

On a happier note, I do love to make my red, white, and blue trifle. I use strawberries and blueberries that I slice and macerate in sugar and a bit of lemon juice over night, Pioneer Woman's recipe/method for whipped cream, and this lovely gluten-free sour cream pound cake recipe from Caramel and Cashews. It's always a hit!
